Minor Updates

By default, the Autoupdate and install option is enabled for a private agent (Private Agent Registrator > Options > Autoupdate) and the version is updated automatically in case of minor updates ( Y or Z numbers were changed in X.Y.Z version number).

Note that automatic updates are turned off automatically if you select to activate an older version of the Private Agent app on your machine.

If the Autoupdate and install option is not enabled, follow the instructions from How to Manually Update Private Agent Version to update the version manually.

Major Updates

In case of major updates ( X number was changed in X.Y.Z version number), to update a private agent reinstall it as described below:

  1. Uninstall old version of Dotcom-Monitor Private Agent (Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features).
  2. Delete the folder “C:\Program Files (x86)\Dotcom-Monitor\Private Agent\”.
  3. Optionally: Delete the logs from the folder “C:\ProgramData\Dotcom-Monitor\Private Agent\Logs\”.
  4. Login to your Dotcom-Monitor account and go to Manage > Private Agents. Click Download Installer and download the agent edition that matches your current agent version.
  5. Install the new PA version. For installation steps, see Private Agent Installation.
