Using the EveryStep Scripting Tool, you can monitor or load test the file downloading from a target web resource to check if the file is available for download, ensuring the file is the same as expected.
File Download Limits
The EveryStep Scripting Tool supports recording of a file download to an external web resource. You can record downloading of up to 100 MB in total within an EveryStep script for load testing and up to 20 MB for monitoring scripts.
For example, you can record a download of four files of 25 MB or one file of 100MB for your load test. Or you can record downloading of two files with a file size of 10 MB each or one 20 MB file for web performance monitoring.
To monitor file downloading, simply download a file while recording a script. The corresponding step will be added to the script code. If necessary, you can change the file name and link, as well as downloading timeout (limited to 5 min max), by editing the related line in the Script Code area.
