Load Injector (LI) Time represents the total operational time of all servers used during your load test. LoadView calculates Load Injector Minutes using the following formula:
Load Injector Minutes = LI₁ Time + LI₂ Time + … + LIₙ Time (in minutes)
Minimum LI Time Billing Rules
LoadView applies a minimum LI-minute consumption based on the total number of Load Injectors used in a test. This ensures sufficient time for each Load Injector server to fully initialize and operate. The main reason for this policy is that large numbers of Load Injectors require significant time to start, and LoadView incurs cloud provider charges as soon as capacity is requested. To offset these costs and maintain service reliability, we apply minimum test-duration limits when many Load Injectors are used.
Minimum LI Time Charge by Load Injector Count
| Total Load Injectors | Minimum Consumed Duration | Applied When Test Duration Is… |
|---|---|---|
| ≤ 100 LIs | 5 minutes | Less than 5 minutes |
| 101–500 Lis | 15 minutes | Less than 15 minutes |
| > 500 LIs | 30 minutes | Less than 30 minutes |
Examples
Example 1: 100 LIs or fewer
A 3-minute test using 10 LIs:
- Actual duration: 3 minutes
- Minimum consumption tier: 5 minutes
- LI Minutes = 10 × 5 minutes = 50 minutes
Example 2: From 101 to 500 LIs
An 8-minute test using 150 LIs:
- Actual duration: 8 minutes
- Minimum consumption tier: 15 minutes
- LI Minutes = 150 × 15 minutes = 2,250 minutes
Example 3: More than 500 LIs
A 12-minute test using 600 LIs:
- Actual duration: 12 minutes
- Minimum consumption tier: 30 minutes
- LI Minutes = 600 × 30 minutes = 18,000 minutes
