This article explains how to configure a report subscription and one-time report settings. For information about report subscriptions and available report types, see Subscription Reports Overview.
To generate a report immediately instead of on a schedule, see Generating a One-Time Report. One-time reports use the same configuration options described in this article. The only difference is that subscription-specific settings, such as Frequency, are not available because the report is generated once instead of on a recurring schedule.
Basic Settings
Use the following settings to configure a subscription or generate a one-time report. These settings define the report scope, format, and delivery. For settings specific to SLA and Certificate Check reports, see Report-Specific Settings later in this article.
- Report Type: Select the report you want to create. Each report card includes a short description, and some report types allow you to preview the report layout using sample data.
- Subscription Name: A default name is provided. Replace it with a descriptive name to make the subscription easier to identify. You can also add an optional description.
- Assigned Device(s): Depending on the report type, select a single device, multiple devices, or All Devices. Some report types generate account-wide reports and do not require device selection. For MetricsView reports, filter the device list by the MetricsView monitoring platform to display eligible devices.
- Frequency: Available only for subscription reports. Select how often the report is generated: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
- Send To: Select a Delivery Address Group. For one-time reports, you can also specify an individual email address.
- White Label: Upload a PNG, JPG, or GIF image (up to 2 MB) to replace the default report header with your company logo. If no logo is specified, the default report header is used.
- Output Format: Select the report format at the bottom of the window. Available formats depend on the report type and include PDF, CSV, or—for Certificate Check and Account Health Snapshot reports—HTML, displayed directly in the email body instead of as an attachment.
Use Preview Template to view a sample report before saving.
Advanced Settings
Expand Advanced Settings to configure monitoring locations, apply response filters, and exclude scheduled maintenance periods from the report.
- Monitoring Agents: Select the monitoring locations whose data will be included in the report.
- Filter: Select a previously created response filter to exclude specific monitoring results from the report. Filters can be configured by error type, error code, error duration, the number of monitoring locations reporting the error, and the number of affected tasks.
- Schedule: Select a predefined schedule to exclude recurring maintenance windows or other planned downtime from report calculations. For example, if maintenance occurs every Saturday from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM, assign a schedule that excludes that time period. Monitoring is paused during the scheduled window, and the excluded period is not counted as downtime in the report.
Report-Specific Settings | SLA & Certificate Check
The following report types include additional configuration options.
SLA
In addition to the standard settings, SLA reports include the following options:
- SLA Uptime: Specifies the expected uptime percentage for each reporting period. The default value is 100.00%. Periods that do not meet the configured target are highlighted in red in the SLA details table.
- Aggregation: Determines how report data is grouped: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. This setting is independent of the report delivery Frequency. For example, a report delivered weekly can still display daily results.
Certificate Check
Certificate Check reports include only devices with Report on Certificate Expiration enabled in their device settings. Enable this option on each device you want to include in the report. Devices without it enabled are excluded.
In addition to the standard settings, Certificate Check reports include:
- Certificate Validity Prior to Expiration: Specifies how many days before a certificate expires it is included in the report. The default value is 30 days.
- Sort By: Specifies how report results are ordered (for example, Expires On).
