Check Internet Services Using Global External Monitoring Agents

TCP Port monitoring makes it easy to verify and manage TCP Port/Telnet services.

What is TCP Port Monitoring?

The Transmission Control Protocol, or TCP, is one of the most commonly used protocols on the Internet. The port availability monitor checks to see if a device is listening for and accepting connections on a specified TCP port.

In a typical client-server model, an application waits for incoming data, the connection request (Listening on a Port), or sends data (connection request), to the known TCP port, which is finally opened by the application server (client).

Our TCP Port/Telnet Monitoring Solution

On your network, server ports are identified by number. Ports are resources allocated to various applications running on the host network that communicates with applications running on the same host or on other network hosts.

Our agent(s) attempt a connection with a specific port on a web server, using the TCP protocol, to determine if the remote computer is accepting connections on that port. If the connection is not accepted, then the service is likely down, and the alert process starts. This is similar to a Telnet application.

Receive Immediate Alerts

Our monitoring agents will alert you instantly the moment port connectivity issues arise.

When a connection to the port cannot be established, the agent will alert you through one or more of our alerting mechanism options, such email, SMS text, wireless email, phone, or through your SNMP console, along with diagnostic information to help you quickly address the cause of the connectivity issue.
