Live Dashboards for Website Monitoring / Network Monitoring
Dashboards are dynamic web-based summary reports that allow you to monitor the status and performance of your infrastructure in real time - without having to login to the Dotcom-Monitor service. Create as many Dashboards as you'd like - each dashboard can be customized to include any combination of devices and securely shared with internal and external stakeholders.
Dashboard - Status View
The initial view on a Dashboard is the Status View. Status View displays the list of devices, the last location and time of monitoring, and the result of the last monitoring event. When a failure is detected, the status will display in red at the top of the dashboard.
Usage: The Status View automatically refreshes every 30 seconds and can run constantly in the background. It's a useful tool for system operators and network admins to keep an eye on the status of their infrastructure.
Dashboard - Detail View
From the Status View, click on any device and you'll be presented with the Dashboard Detail View.
Each Dashboard can be configured to display Uptime/Downtime charts and numbers, performance data, and historical information based on daily, weekly and monthly intervals.
Usage: These reports are often placed in a publicly viewable area of a website to demonstrate the reliability of your website, uptime and performance as verified by a credible 3rd party monitoring service.
Dashboard Security and Access
Website Monitoring Dashboards are secured by assigning a randomized global unique identifier (GUID). A GUID is a long string of letters and numbers:
Example GUID: B5BB0BEEA67E47648F27B5F634EDD75C
Because of their length, complexity and random nature, GUIDs make it virtually impossible for someone to access a report or guess the unique string. To share a dashboard, you simply send someone the URL that contains the GUID.
By default, public Dashboards are not enabled. In order to make Dashboards accessible outside of Dotcom-Monitor, you must "enable" this feature within your control panel.
