How the Web Site Application Monitoring Works:
We provide a proprietary tool called Dotcom-Monitor®
Macro Recorder that makes easy to record scenarios and setup
parameters for applications that you need to monitor. Macro
recorder is windows based application that works very similar
to a web browser. You can see the demo of the tool 
here.
Once the tool is downloaded and launched
from a local PC it will prompt you to start at your URL. As
you go through your application the Macro Recorder will record
each step you go through. Once you go through all
the steps within your application the tool will upload the
collected data to the central Dotcom-Monitor® server. At this
point you simply enter a few parameters such as: transaction
name, monitoring locations, fault tolerance, reporting options
and alarm notifications. Once this data is entered the monitoring
will begin immediately. Dotcom-Monitor® performs monitoring
from all the locations you have selected and each monitoring
location collects performance and availability for each step.
Collecting Data and Real-Time Analysis
Monitoring is performed by the locations
that you choose. You can choose one location or all the locations
in the Dotcom-Monitor® network. Each location will go through
the Macro Recorder scenario and do an analysis at each step
of the way for several aspects, including: proper content,
a working SSL certificate, and HTTP errors. It will also collect
performance data. If a problem is detected a snapshot of the
HTML being analyzed will be taken and an immediate trace route
to the server will begin. The collected data will be uploaded
to the server and available for reporting right away. Multiple
reports are available on-line in real-time. For more details
