Mail Server Monitoring for SMTP, POP3 and IMAP servers

SMTP Monitoring
SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is the Internet protocol for electronic mail delivery. Most mail servers today use this protocol to deliver and receive e-mail.
Whenever you send an e-mail, your e-mail client interacts with the SMTP server to handle the sending. The SMTP server on your host may have conversations with other SMTP servers to actually deliver the e-mail.
ServerView agents monitor your SMTP server by connecting to specified mail server and doing an SMTP handshake. If a remote server does not respond to a handshake or it is unavailable, you will receive an instant alert.
POP3 / IMAP Server Monitoring
Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) monitoring checks your incoming mail servers. Our remote agent connects to your mail server and then logs in using a user name and password that you provide. If a connection to your incoming mail servers fails you'll be notified immediately.
