The EveryStep™ Macro Recorder by Dotcom-Monitor provides a quick and easy way to set up monitoring of web applications and web transactions. EveryStep recorder is a Windows-based application similar to Internet Explorer that records each event that happens during an interaction on your web site.
The step-by-step re-enactment is saved as a script to the Dotcom-Monitor platform. The script is then available for playback in a browser from any of our worldwide monitoring agents. Dotcom-Monitor agents replay your script at the monitoring frequency you choose and look for error conditions such as: connectivity problems, content issues, performance slowdowns, "end-user experience" errors, and other custom error conditions you create.
If a problem is detected and confirmed, Dotcom-Monitor immediately initiates a variety of specialized probes including: a network trace route, DNS traces, webpage code capture, and a webpage screen shot capture.
The probes serve to quickly pinpoint potential root causes of performance problems and immediately inform your designated on-call responders as soon as possible. Check out our Alert and Notifications page for details on how we can alert you via phone, SMS, email and more.
In addition to problem detection and error alerting processes, the collection of a wide variety of performance data is ongoing. This performance data is available in a variety of report formats, including: a real-time dashboard, text, Excel, graphical, online, and email.
