DNS monitoring is realized by querying a specified server in order to resolve a specific internet address. If the DNS server unable to resolve the address or unavailable the Dotcom-Monitor's notification process starts. Once you add your DNS server for monitoring, our services at regular time intervals (1, 3, 5 minutes or according to your settings) will continuously check your dns server.
Why do you need DNS monitoring? DNS monitoring ensures uptime and helps you provide consistent connectivity to your site which can ultimately save you thousands of dollars per year.
Domain name servers (DNS) are used to translate human-readable domain names to IP addresses. If the DNS server that supports your organization is down or functioning not properly, multiple services such as mail servers, web sites, and proxy servers may be unavailable to the outside world. To ensure fast and consistent page loads, your DNS server must translate this information as quickly and reliably as possible.
Dotcom-Monitor's DNS server monitoring alerts you when problems in this critical step of page load occur and can help you identify inconsistent or reoccurring problems that may require a permanent solution.
